Brief history

The Department of Orthopedic Dentistry was founded in 1961 and is located at the base of the dental prosthetic department of the Municipal Dental Clinic Chisinau, and since 1979 - at the University Dental Clinic. Initially, Prof. S. Mudrîi was appointed head of the department, and in 1979 - Prof. I. Postolachi. At the beginning, the department had only 5 jobs and a dental laboratory being modestly equipped. It is currently equipped with modern equipment, state-of-the-art tools and materials. It has 28 jobs, a dental laboratory, 2 study rooms. The collaborators of the department created and perfected the didactic complex (analytical syllabus, thematic plans of lectures, practical works, methodological elaborations, lecture texts, sets of self-verification tests, schemes, tables, slides, molds, etc.) necessary to train students according to requirements. modern. Since 1996, the department has started postgraduate training for graduates in residency. Simultaneously with the didactic activity, the collaborators of the department carry out scientific investigations having as scientific direction "Prophylaxis and optopedo-prosthetic treatment of dental diseases". During this period, the collaborators of the department presented scientific reports at various national and international forums, defended a doctoral thesis and 14 doctoral theses in medicine. From September 1, 2007 to October 1, 2009, the department is called "Prosthetic Department of Dental and Orthodontics", head of department - Pavel Godoroja, univ. Prof., Dr. hab. med. From October 1, 2009 to November 1, 2012, the department is called "Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, OMF Surgery and Implantology", head of department - Valentin Topalo, univ. Prof., Dr. hab. med. From November 1, 2012 until now, the “Ilarion Postolachi” Department of Orthopedic Dentistry has been appointed, Head of Department - Oleg Solomon, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor.
